I had the privilege of assisting Hopkins Electrical, a dynamic electrician company catering to both residential and commercial customers. They approached me with a challenge: their existing Electrician Website, developed by Yell, was underperforming and not generating the level of enquiries they desired.
The journey began with a thorough website audit to identify key areas needing improvement for optimal results. Utilising sophisticated industry analysis tools, I benchmarked Hopkins Electrical’s website against other electricians.
The competitor analysis included insights from the top 15 local competitor websites, providing a comprehensive understanding of the industry standards and customer expectations. This provided a clear road map for content creation and improvement.
After a detailed discussion with the business owner, I formulated a content strategy tailored to their needs. Daryl gave me an overview of the services he provides and I would write the first draft. It was then reviewed by Daryl and his expertise was incorporated into the content.
As I reviewed competitors to assess gaps in Hopkins Electrical’s content I started to plan out the website structure.
The client was keen on retaining their original color scheme while remaining open to other creative aspects. Within weeks, I had done various design iterations and the client gave approval for completing the design phase.
With the design phase complete, I began the process of converting his old website into WordPress. This platform choice was strategic, as it allows for easy content editing and updates for the client.
